LAVATION - the gentle way
We are redefining the future of alkaline hydrolysis.
With Lavation, we have developed a new burial method that combines over 20 years of experience in the funeral industry with German engineering expertise, meeting the highest standards of dignity, safety and practicality – for a particularly gentle process.
PATENTED & PROTECTED
Lavation is our advanced alkaline hydrolysis process, specifically designed for human burial. The deceased is laid to rest in a warm environment, where they are gently misted with a warm spray of water and electrolytes. At the end of the process, the bones remain and can be placed in a standard urn, together with the filter cloth, for burial.
PROCESS
The deceased is placed into the Lavarium in a lying position. There, they are coated with a warm mist of water and electrolytes. They are transformed back into their most basic components. What remains at the end are the bones, as well as any prostheses (these can be removed and recycled), which can then be placed in a standard urn for burial.
EFFICIENCY AND SUSTAINABILITY
Thanks to our innovative and gentle process, combined with efficient heat recovery and other technical features, we are able to significantly reduce both resource consumption and the duration of the process compared to conventional methods. This further enhances the sustainability of our operations. Furthermore, our design work is based on the cradle-to-cradle principle.
